Water/Moisture Intrusion Cause & Origin

SDII Global Corporation (SDII) provides services related to evaluating water damage in commercial and residential structures. A Water Intrusion Cause & Origin Assessment is available as an independent investigation, or as part of a Microbial Evaluation.

SDII's Water Intrusion Cause & Origin Assessment report provides a determination of the cause and origin of a water intrusion, water loss, and/or moisture intrusion incident. The fieldwork typically incorporates the following generalized scope of services:

• Homeowner or Designated Representative Interview;
• Visual Site Evaluation of Interior, Exterior, Roof, Attic, and Crawl Space Areas
  (including representative photographic documentation);
• Moisture Content, Relative Humidity, and Temperature Measurements;
• Limited, HVAC System Assessment
  (including inlet and vent temperature readings to evaluate the temperature differential);
• Cause and Origin Determination.

Following the completion of the site visit and data collection activities, a Water Intrusion Cause & Origin Assessment report is prepared under the direction of a licensed structural engineer, and includes a detailed explanation of the cause or causes of loss, as well as a damage time line determination.

When incorporated with SDII's Microbial Evaluation with Remediation Protocol report, the Water Intrusion evaluation subsection includes structural recommendations for the proper repair of the identified water intrusion/loss source, to prevent subsequent moisture impact to surrounding building materials.

SDII provides a two-day turnaround time from initial assignment to Site visit date and a one week turnaround time from Site visit to report completion date for the Water Intrusion Cause & Origin Assessments Report. SDII can also accommodate emergency projects that may require rush turnaround times.
